About

Hello! I’m Sarah, an illustrator, mark-maker and collage mess enthusiast who loves trees (specifically pine), fresh air and running along the beach. Don’t leave me alone with olives as I will eat them all, especially stuffed with feta. Other confessions include hoarding art materials. Originally from the UK, I currently live in Melbourne with my family where I do all of these things.

I graduated from Leeds with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, and had the privilege of working as a childrenswear designer in London with some of the most established retailers and grocers on the high-street. But it took becoming a mother to realise I had the confidence to start my journey as a writer and illustrator.

Bedtime stories with my children became my favourite part of the day, snuggled-up, all cosy, with the comforting smell of printed paper and their wondrous imaginations. It reignited a desire to draw, and unapologetically play. If I could raise two bright and beautiful boys, I could do lots of other things I aspired to.

When I’m not found in the kids’ section of the library or gawking at contemporary art, I’ll be making a glorious mess, in a world where words meet pictures.
